Importance of Art

This Statement is very incorrect. Many things are wrong with this statement like, what if the students want to have a job that involves the arts and art, music, and theater classes are very important to students. Fine Arts can teach students how to become creative and independant, as well as help them deal with the stresses that schools bring.
What if a kid wants to be an artist? These arts would help the child understand how to become an artist and what it takes. Jobs that are considered the Fine Arts tend to be more exciting and require a lot of creativity, instead of working at an office all day. Another question... How could a child really know what they want to do in their life? Many people don't even know what they want to do, even when they are done with high school.  Saying this is such a narrow minded way of thinking. What do you want kids to do... decide their job when they are 5-8 years old? I wanted to be an Orca Trainer when I was 5! I just dreamed, as most children do. If we trained kids to "enter the workforce" would there be anytime to dream or learn how to manage workload. At the end of the day that is all school really is. We are usually never going to use half the stuff we learn at school, what we do learn is social skills and how to manage workloads and prioritize work. Don't get me wrong, the school system isn't perfect, I think we should certain things like learn how to do taxes and certain life and social skills that are never taught at school. Things like the Fine Arts programs teach us many life skills that Math, Reading, Science... all the common teaching stuffs. It also makes kids more creative and indeoendant.
